Chronic Pain Management

Chronic pain is merciless and relentless.

Chances are, if you clicked on this blog post, you or someone you love suffers from chronic pain. I’m so sorry.

And as if the pain isn’t bad enough, there are all the well-meaning People Without Pain (PWOP’s) who either don’t take your pain seriously, or their hairdresser’s second cousin’s mother-in-law cured her pain with [FILL IN THE BLANK] and you should give it a try!

Massage for Sore Nerves

Do you often realize you are on high alert, tracking your environment for danger even when there is nothing obvious to be afraid of?

Have you ever responded to something in your environment with anger and even an urge to violence, because you feel attacked—and then been told you were overreacting?

Do you sometimes have an urge to run, to escape, for reasons you can’t immediately articulate? Alternatively, do you sometimes find yourself frozen by indecision and anxiety, unable to make the next move?

Hey! I Just Launched my YouTube Channel!

So, I started a YouTube channel, ADHD Woman. It started with shooting this vlog about a month ago, in which I muddle through trying to figure out what it is I want to do ... and it has now emerged as a manifesto about rethinking everything we think we know about ADHD!

Vulnerability with Boundaries

Tuesdays are my husband Joel’s “long day” when he starts work at 9:00 am and leaves class at 10:00 pm and doesn’t come home in between.  Which means I’m on my own for dinner, since Joel is the family cook. Last night I had popcorn for dinner and watched the Bréne Brown special on Netflix.

My Elusive Quest for Balance

At the beginning of every New Year, at the beginning of every semester, at every birthday, with every clean new journal—at any milestone I could possibly turn into the “clean slate” I deemed necessary for achieving “balance”—I make my resolutions: to be organized, productive, to have routines for me and my family that would keep us all happy and on-track.
