On Finding Someone to Listen
Yes, I do tend to get a little hyperfocused sometimes. Obsessive comes to mind, I admit it. It’s something about my brain that I used to have a love-hate relationship with, but now I only love it.
So, no apologies for how much I’m talking about Seth Godin these days.
Seth’s blog today is called On Finding Something to Say, in which he points out that all the unprecedented ways technology has given us to connect and speak up are not worth much if we don’t have anything to say.
Anyone who knows me even a little bit knows that my problem has never been that I don’t have anything to say. There are a lot of things in this quirky brain of mine. The problem has always been finding a tribe. Happily for me, technology is helping me find that tribe. Maybe they even want to hear some of the things.
Maybe you are part of that tribe?
Tomorrow I am launching my YouTube channel ADHD Woman, which started out a month ago with me shooting a vlog on my phone in which I bemoaned my lack of clarity about what to do with all the things in my quirky brain, and has become a manifesto of sorts.
I will be posting substantive videos every Tuesday and vlogs every Friday (and sometimes other days). Tomorrow I begin with that first vlog, and on Tuesday 30 April I will post a video called ADHD Woman. It’s pretty glitchy and the lighting isn’t great, but three weeks ago I had never used iMovie or edited a video and I’m kind of proud of it.
I hope you’ll check out my vlog tomorrow, and my video next Tuesday, and if you like them, I hope you’ll “like” them! And if you really like them, I hope you will subscribe to my channel, and maybe even tell your friends.
